We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and optimise our Microsoft-based and other Identity infrastructure platforms for our business unit, Information and Technology Partners (ITP). You will play a critical role in administering core technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, PowerShell, and other related platforms. ITP is hosted by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and delivers information technology and information management services to 7 government agencies. Our purpose is to provide effective and innovative services as a trusted, strategic partner distributing smart, secure and seamless solutions. The opportunity The Senior Systems Administrator for Identity infrastructure platforms and systems is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft-based and other Identity IT environments to ensure its reliability, security, and performance. You will assist in leading and working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to coordinate system upgrades, testing, maintenance, and change all while building strong stakeholder relationships across the business. You Will Also Be Responsible To Show your expertise: Configure, monitor, patch, and optimise Microsoft infrastructure platforms. Drive innovation: Lead and participate in operational programs and projects to deliver enhancements and continuous improvements to meet evolving business needs. Collaborate with the team leader to deliver high-quality ICT support by managing workloads, coordinating activities, prioritising tasks in collaboration with the team leader. Test your knowledge: Apply technical problem-solving methods to identify, analyse and implement effective solutions. Be the go-to expert: Resolve complex incidents and service requests with confidence. Shape the future: Analyse emerging technologies and bring fresh ideas to the table. Build capability: Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and excellence. What We Are Looking For (qualifications, Registrations, Experience) Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice to management and team members and present technical information and risks in plain language on emerging technology and trends. Strong communication and strong collaboration skills to engage and work with internal support teams, stakeholders and vendors to deliver successful solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage Windows Server technologies, hardware and software, in local and wide area networked environments. Exposure to the following technologies: Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019. Experience with Server 2022 would be advantageous. System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) familiarity Demonstrated experience using Microsoft PowerShell for managing Windows Server OS, applications and infrastructure. Experience with Active Directory and DHCP in a mutli-site setting.
