About the role Droneshield is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Instructional Designer to join our Training and Development team. Reporting to the Training and Development Lead, the Instructional Designer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality eLearning and instructor-led training (ILT) materials. This role will focus on creating engaging, professional, and standardised training content that aligns with Droneshield’s product capabilities, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in instructional design, a strong background in eLearning development tools, and a proven ability to create impactful training materials for both technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Design and develop engaging and effective training materials, including eLearning modules, ILT content, job aids, and assessments. Collaborate with subject matter experts across Customer Delivery, Field Operations, Tech, and Sales to gather technical information and translate it into learner-friendly content. Develop ILT materials, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, and hands-on exercises. Assist with LMS Administration including uploading, managing and maintain training content. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Essential: Qualifications in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or related fields. Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on eLearning and ILT content development. Experience developing learning course materials for high tech industries. Proficiency in eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate (preferred) or Articulate Storyline. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and training evaluation frameworks. Experience designing technical training content. The ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Desirable: Experience working in a technology or defence environment. Familiarity with LMS administration and reporting. Graphic design and multimedia development skills.
