This is a Designer role with Zimmermann based in Sydney, NSW, AU Zimmermann Role Seniority - mid level More about the Designer role at Zimmermann Job Description As a Designer at ZIMMERMANN, you will play a key role in creating distinctive, commercially successful designs for the Swim and Resort product lines that embody the brand’s signature aesthetic and vision. Working closely under the guidance of the Senior Design Directors and alongside the Creative Director and wider team, you will contribute across all stages of the design process—from initial concept through to final execution—supporting the delivery of seasonal collections. The successful candidate will bring a strong personal style, exceptional original design skills, and a genuine passion for and understanding of luxury designer fashion, ensuring each design is both creatively compelling and aligned with commercial and business objectives. As a designer, your key responsibilities include: Collaborate with the Creative Director and Senior Design Team on seasonal Swim & Resort concepts and story ideas. Research and source inspiration for fabrics, trims, prints, embroidery, textures, and colour palettes. Develop design boards, illustrations, and artworks for seasonal raw material development Support all stages of collection development, from concept to final sample, adhering to Critical Path timelines. Work closely with pattern makers to ensure designs are accurately executed in proportion, fit, and finish. Review salesman and production samples to ensure quality and alignment with design intent. Produce accurate technical drawings and design sheets for pattern makers and production teams. Collaborate with senior designers and pattern makers on fit, proportion, and finishes. Required skills and expertise: A fashion design degree from an Australian or international institution and have achieved outstanding results in both course work and in external competitions Minimum of 5 years' experience with a designer brand Understanding and connection with the Zimmermann brand aesthetic Advanced understanding of garment construction, fit and finishes Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills Excellent technical drawing ability Why work with us?
