The opportunity: As our Database Administrator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our databases while contributing to exciting operational programs and projects that make a real difference. You'll work with a passionate team to design, upgrade, and maintain databases, troubleshoot issues, and deliver best-practice solutions. You will also be responsible to: * Apply problem-solving strategies to conduct root cause analyses and identify, evaluate, and implement solutions. * Collaborate and innovate closely with stakeholders to create practical solutions that balance performance, security, scalability, and cost. * Deploy changes to production applications from written and automated deployment plans, adhering to change management processes. * Keep up with emerging ICT technologies to meet evolving organisational needs. * Contribute to culture and be part of a team that values equity, diversity, and innovation while fostering a positive workplace environment. What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience): * Demonstrates a sound understanding of contemporary digital / information technology concepts and service delivery relevant to a large, complex public sector or not-for-profit organisation. * Presents technical information and risks in plain language * Ability to solve problems effectively within an application support environment. * Demonstrated experience in administering application databases, utilising PostgreSQL and its standard utilities, and authoring and maintaining Linux/Solaris scripts (ksh), * Familiarity with tools like vi, scp, ssh, grep, awk, sed, PuTTY, and PowerShell scripting is desired. * Experience with MS SQL Server, SVN/GIT version control systems, and Agile/DevSecOps methodologies would be an advantage. * You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
