Your next career opportunity As a Learning Designer at Melbourne Online, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of online education at the University of Melbourne. In this position, you will design and develop high-quality, pedagogically sound online subjects across multiple disciplines at scale. You will work collaboratively with academic teams, Senior Learning Designers, Media Producers, Graphic Designers, EdTechs and Content Editors to ensure each course meets the University’s educational standards. This role gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge of design principles, learning methodologies and pedagogical and heutagogical approaches to create high-quality online learning experiences that enhance the overall learning journey for the University of Melbourne Online students. Your responsibilities will include: Develop canvas courses: Build high-quality online subjects, ensuring alignment with Melbourne Online standards and objectives. Create engaging content: Write, storyboard and develop instructional materials for learning modules into canvas, making decisions on content delivery and integration of multimedia elements. Collaboration with Production and Technology teams: Work closely with academic teams, Senior Learning Designers, Media Producers, Graphic Designers, EdTechs and Content Editors to create engaging learning materials, including videos, graphics and interactive elements. Technology integration: Build content in Canvas and utilise technology to enhance the online teaching and learning experience, incorporating interactive features and multimedia elements. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced instructional designer with strong Canvas development skills, capable of creating pedagogically sound online courses while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You may also: Relevant qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in the end-to-end design and development of high-quality, pedagogically sound online subjects across multiple disciplines and at scale. Possess applied knowledge of learning methodologies and pedagogical approaches for online environments. Skilled in developing well-structured, logically sequenced content maps, storyboards and associated documentation, including briefs outlining asset, interactives and media requirements, aligned to assessments and ILOs - that shape the translation of academic content into engaging, interactive, accessible and learner-centred online learning experiences.
