We’re looking for two Security Engineers who are curious, collaborative, and driven to make a meaningful impact. These are 24-month maximum term contract roles. In these roles, you’ll help protect Aussie Broadband and our customers by managing security platforms, responding to threats, and driving continuous improvement. You’ll work across teams to embed security practices, guide incident response, and contribute to a culture that values clarity, care, and a bit of fun. You bring a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity and a mindset that’s focused on real-world impact. You’re not afraid to explore assumptions, dive deep into risks, and speak plainly about what needs to be done. You enjoy collaborating with others, rolling up your sleeves when needed, and using humour to build trust and connection. Have hands-on experience with operating systems, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), networks, firewalls, and security tools Understand threats, vulnerabilities, attack methods, and security frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, SOCI, ASD Essential 8) Are familiar with threat modelling (STRIDE, PASTA), scripting (PowerShell, Python), and logging best practices Communicate clearly, stay organised, and work well on your own or in a team Bonus points if you bring telco experience, relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCSP), or a risk-based mindset Are constructive, friendly, and bring a sense of humour to the team Think like a mentor, solve problems quickly, and adapt with ease How will you support our “Why?” At Aussie Broadband, our “why” is to connect Australians to what matters most. Maintain and optimise security platforms like SIEM, TIP, and vulnerability tools Build automation playbooks and detection reasoning to improve threat response Investigate alerts, assess impact, and guide forensic activities Contribute to the security roadmap and drive remediation of risks Collaborate across teams to embed controls and raise awareness Track timelines, manage risks, and deliver security initiatives Ready to join?
