About the role The purpose of the role is to provide individual, couple and group interventions on early intervention / parenting and related clinical services for families and children, between 0-8 years and with the goal to improve the attachment relationship between caregivers and children. Clinical services are provided in line with the appropriate professional code of ethics and practice standards. This position will assist in delivering Queensland Health's Early Intervention and Parenting Support Initiative, the Early Intervention for Safe and Healthy Families Initiative and the Expanded Child Health Centre Initiative. The position will collaborate with Child Health team staff, and key stakeholders in Paediatrics to inform multidisciplinary clinical parenting interventions related to parental adjustment, parenting and parent-child relationships and behaviour management. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: * Competence and clinical experience in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards and/or with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Ethics, Queensland Health's clinical governance policies, and Code of Conduct to deliver practice evidence informed clinical care, counselling, group work and advocacy in the health care system. * Commitment to active and ongoing professional development and supervision to meet appropriate professional standards of practice and/or registration. * Competence in professional clinical practice and adherence to defined service standards and the management of complex patient care, whilst exercising a degree of independence and professional decision making, accessing clinical practice supervision and guidance as required. * Effective written communication skills in application to correspondence with service providers and clinical reports and the provision of documentation practice within the medico legal requirements. * Competence in communication, negotiation, consultation, advocacy and interpersonal skills to be independent in effective problem-solving including conflict resolution and to work cooperatively with other professionals and contribute positively in all interactions in the workplace at all levels.
