Your next career opportunity As a Senior Payroll Systems Specialist at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising and supporting the institution's payroll systems. You'll provide technical expertise and leadership across payroll configuration, system maintenance, compliance, and reporting. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your aPay (Ascender/Dayforce) expertise in a dynamic higher education environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations and drive continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include: System Management: Configure, administer, and maintain the aPay payroll system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with legislation and policies. Issue Resolution: Research, triage, and resolve payroll system issues promptly, minimising operational disruptions. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to design, scope, and deliver payroll system enhancements and new capabilities. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT teams to manage project risks, issues, and decisions related to payroll systems. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced payroll systems professional with strong technical skills in aPay (Ascender/Dayforce), possessing excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for optimising payroll processes in complex organisational environments. You may also: Have 3 or more years of experience configuring and administering payroll and awards systems. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Dayforce system building blocks and their alignment with industrial instruments. Possess strong analytical skills and experience in requirements gathering, design, and testing of payroll solutions. Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
