Description About the Role Downer is seeking a skilled and driven Fleet Engineer to provide technical expertise across our rail fleet operations. This role is key to supporting fleet performance, reliability, and continuous improvement through fault analysis, system monitoring, and engineering support over a roster which covers morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities Deliver technical support across rail operations. Analyse fault data and develop reliability reports. Support design, modification, and commissioning activities. Contribute to asset maintenance planning and risk management. Investigate service incidents and technical issues. Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and predictive insights. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience in rolling stock, asset management, or heavy maintenance. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Excellent communication, time management, and IT skills. Rail industry experience preferred (5 years ideal). Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of rolling stock systems and standards. Proficient in RAMS, engineering change, and QA processes. Skilled in troubleshooting and reliability improvement. Confident in data analysis and reporting.
