About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. We are currently looking to fill 2 permanent part time positions. You must be available for one of the following: Line 1 Week 1 Monday 3pm to 9pm Tuesday 3pm to 10pm Friday 7am to 4pm Saturday 8am to 3pm Week 2 Tuesday 6am to 11am Wednesday 6:30am to 3pm Line 2 Week 1 Tuesday 6am to 11am Week 2 Tuesday 6:30am to 3pm Wednesday 6am to 11am Friday 7am to 4pm Saturday 8am to 3pm * Please Note: It is important to understand that our clients’ needs, and their support plans can change which also means that our roster lines may change and will be confirmed at the time of offer. Key Responsibilities Engage with clients in their favourite activities such as fishing, gardening, art, crochet, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and Star Wars Deliver personalised active support to 6 clients with diverse needs, including mental health, diabetes and behaviours Assist with personal care tasks and safe manual handling Follow behaviour support plans Work collaboratively within a supportive team to enhance client independence and quality of life Skills & Experience Experience supporting clients who are non-verbal Strong communication skills and ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
