As an security specialist, you will contribute to ideation, planning, and designing the next generation compliance and threat modeling services. Key job responsibilities This role offers an opportunity to help define and launch new services that enhance security for AWS's global customer base. As a security specialist, you'll join a growing team of engineers focused on building transformative security services, working to reinvent how Amazon and our customers perceive and experience security. You will help shape Global Services Security's overall service offerings and how they help integrate together to help solve our customer's problems. A day in the life You will collaborate with engineering teams across AWS to design, deliver, and refine solutions that make it easier for our global customers to operate secure and compliant workloads within AWS. You'll work closely with our business team to ensure a clear understanding of the core problem we aim to solve. You'll partner with Product Management, UX Designer, and developers to create appropriate user stories and a roadmap. Since the development and career progression of our team members is a priority, you will also coach and mentor others on the team to support their growth and achievement of career goals. Basic Qualifications - Experience in security or compliance consulting or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment - 3 years of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 5 years of IT Security experience - 5 years in performing and/or participating in technical assessments in direct support of a major compliance effort (e.g. NIST, SOC 2, or ISO) Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree or above in a technical or engineering related field, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc. - Experience with compliance & security standards including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST - Knowledge of one or more of the following domains: access-control system and methodology, network security, application- and system-development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security - 1 years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience, or AWS Professional level certification - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
