Your next career opportunity As a Data Engineering Analyst at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in the Data Operations and Analytics team, providing high-quality data analysis and insights to decision-makers across Faculties and Chancellery. You'll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies to prepare, combine, and analyse information for corporate purposes, including workforce, finance, student, and advancement data. This role offers you the opportunity to drive data-powered innovation in a dynamic higher education environment, directly impacting the university's strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include: Data Analysis: Prepare and analyse complex datasets, integrating information from various sources to provide comprehensive insights. Model Development: Collaborate with senior data engineers to ensure analytical models and datasets meet production standards. Reporting: Review and compare external education reporting with University data, highlighting key differences and insights. Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to information requests from faculty and service areas, providing in-depth analysis on various educational topics. Process Improvement: Continuously enhance and document quantitative processes to drive efficiency and expand the Analytics knowledge repository. You may be a great fit if: You are an analytical professional with strong SQL and Python skills, possessing excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights in an educational context. You may also: Hold a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or have equivalent experience. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis. Have experience with business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy and Power BI. Possess knowledge of AWS tool sets and data warehouse structures. Show strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights for diverse stakeholders.
