Why is this role for me? You’re a CA with 2 years of experience, and you want a change of pace. A new challenge. Something that doesn't involve working weekends and doing 10-12-hour days on site. You've always fancied going client-side at some point, as long as you'd get the chance to learn and develop your skills and be a PM in the future, which is exactly what this company and director are offering. Initially, you'd get 1-2-1 training and development from the director and PM and in time you'd start to manage smaller projects (up to $2million) and support the director on projects up to $60million in value. You'd work from a cracking heritage office in Darlinghurst (walking distance from Museum station) and work normal office hours like 8-5. The director used to work for Buildcorp, so he knows his stuff and has great contacts in the sector, so you'd get exposure to a wide range of projects. Salary would start in the $100-$130k package range, though this will only go up as you develop into an out-and-out PM. If you want a role where subbies aren’t pestering you to be paid all the time and where you can have a bit more of a social life, then this is the role for you. I’m really interested, but can I do this job? We certainly hope so! If you tick the following 4 points then get in touch. You have 2years experience working as a CA or project coordinator with a head contractor or large subcontractor. You consider yourself to be detail-oriented and with a high work ethic. You are confident in communicating with clients face to face Some exposure to doing preconstruction tasks, such as obtaining the DA and CC would be advantageous I’m intrigued, what’s the next step? You don’t need to send a CV at this stage. Just call James on 0414417044 for an informal chat or send me an email at [email protected] telling me why you’re interested. A more detailed jobspec can be provided. Everyone will receive a response within 3 days.
