Job Title: Piling Design and Estimation Engineer ConsultANZ is looking for a Piling Design & Estimating Engineer to join Avopiling a prominent National piling and deep foundations company to be based in their Melbourne office, Victoria. This role offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a growing, dynamic team, contribute to innovative construction projects, and play a key role in project planning, cost estimation, and delivery. You’ll be part of a collaborative business with a reputation for technical excellence and setting the highest industry standards. While the role is based in Melbourne, you will be exposed to projects across Australia, working closely with internal design and estimating teams from other states. Note they could make all level of experience work within the current structure of the business. So, anyone with 3 years of relevant experience through to Senior Level are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Design and estimating of various foundation piling techniques and retaining wall solutions Collaborating with the operations team to ensure design requirements align with project objectives for design & construct contracts. Developing piling and deep foundation designs based on soil conditions and project specifications. Analysing geotechnical reports to identify the most appropriate piling solutions. Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. Proposing cost-effective and efficient design solutions, ensuring structural integrity and safety. Conducting site investigations and utilizing design software such as Wallap, Piglet, and Plaxis. Creating and updating Excel templates for cost estimation and project planning. Reporting directly to the State Manager. What You’ll Need: The ideal candidate will have: A tertiary qualification in engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience - note through to Senior level will be considered. Experience working with leading contractors or major design firms. Proficiency in MS Office, Wallap, Piglet, and ideally Plaxis 2D/3D or similar design tools. Strong skills in cost estimation and budget management. Excellent communication abilities and a practical, hands-on approach to projects.
