Project Engineer – Civil & Earthworks A respected contractor in the civil infrastructure space is seeking a versatile Project Engineer to support both field operations and commercial functions. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and brings a proactive mindset to every stage of project delivery. Role Overview As a Project Engineer, you’ll be the connective tissue between site teams and office-based operations. You’ll help ensure projects run smoothly, documentation is accurate, and commercial outcomes are maximized. Expect a mix of site visits, technical coordination, and support across estimating and contract administration. Key Responsibilities • Liaise with project teams to manage documentation, variations, and claims • Track daily activities and costs through structured reporting tools • Coordinate quality assurance submissions and compliance records • Attend active sites to support planning and execution alongside field supervisors • Assist in onboarding processes for new projects, ensuring readiness and alignment Estimating & Tender Support • Review tender packages and identify key deliverables and risks • Prepare take-offs and bills of quantities using first-principles estimating • Research upcoming opportunities and contribute to bid strategy • Support tender submissions and post-bid negotiations • Conduct site assessments to inform pricing and feasibility What You’ll Need • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field • Strong digital literacy and familiarity with construction software • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Solid understanding of contract frameworks and subcontractor engagement • A collaborative attitude and willingness to work across departments • Reliable transport for occasional site travel Only permanent residents in Australia will be considered for this role.
