What you'll do * Provide support and guidance to Biomedical Technology Services (BTS) management and staff to promote the provision of safe and effective health technology management and support services across the BTS network. * Communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, to achieve service delivery objectives. * Provide authoritative advice on the lifecycle management of health technology equipment and systems, and related regulatory compliance requirements, Australian Standards, industry codes of practice and agency policies. * Provide specialised support in the acquisition of healthcare technology and associated systems. This support may include preparing technical specifications, technical and performance assessment of equipment, offer evaluation and preparation of reports. * Lead, consult to or manage major health technology projects including design, installation, testing and operational commissioning through application of design control, risk management and project management procedures. * Assess health technology maintenance, management and support options, including assessment of vendor and internal stakeholder service and service contract options. * Oversee and, as required, provide heath technology management and support services including: managing and monitoring contractor performance, repairs, planned maintenance, installation, commissioning other support for health technology equipment and systems. About you We are searching for someone who has: * At least a recognised four-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering as recognised by Engineers Australia. * Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for permanent appointment to the position. * Unregistered applicants are encouraged to apply for the position provided they are eligible for registration in accordance with Professional Engineers Act 2002. * Specialised level knowledge, expertise and skills in the contemporary standards and practice of biomedical engineering, including management and safety of health technology equipment, systems and software. * Ability to lead and manage a team to deliver a range of biomedical engineering, biomedical ICT and health technology management services. * Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. * Ability to apply engineering and risk management principles to solve complex health technology related problems. * Ability to lead change through service improvement activities in biomedical engineering and health technology management.
