As a Principal Finance Officer, Financial Accounting, you will manage and positively influence a team in, and contribute to, the provision of operational financial accounting services and associated compliance requirements for the Department of Health. You will monitor, review and ensure financial reconciliations and analytical tasks performed by the team are completed monthly with reconciling items and erroneous findings investigated and cleared on a timely basis. Additionally, you will undertake the review of relevant operational guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with any changes in accounting standards and other financial reporting requirements identified by the Statutory Reporting & Technical Advisory team. Role fit: * Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of, and recent experience in, the practical application of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Reporting Requirements for Queensland Government Agencies, legislation, contemporary financial management practices and policies. * Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive and well-rounded advice to all levels of management and other stakeholders and in the development of policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms. * Demonstrated involvement and success in leading continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of operational financial accounting, with demonstrated ability to work within and thrive in successful teams.
