Trainee Teacher Large multi-campus Christian school Part-time (2 days/week), fixed-term position Any Chairo campus We are currently seeking to appoint a Trainee Teacher to work part-time while studying for either a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching at either Eastern College Australia or Christian Heritage College through CITE Alliance Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and learn on-the-job skills while studying to become a teacher. Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne. Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general. Some key responsibilities for the Trainee Teacher will include the following: · Provide a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyle · Support teachers in development of differentiated lesson plans · Assess and provide feedback to students · Assist classroom teachers with monitoring and maintaining student pastoral care and wellbeing · Engage in the faith life of the school, including attendance at events such as staff devotions or worship The successful candidate will have the following: · Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith · Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills · Understanding of appropriate behaviours when working with children · Good computer literacy skills · Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team The safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all our students is a high priority.
