Please click here for: Our statement of faith About the role: Secondary Teacher - HPE and Outdoor Ed Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract - 2026 Full Job Description FTE 1.0 South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Teacher to join our Health and Physical Education team, specialising in Outdoor Education. The successful candidate will focus on student learning, support the Head of Department in delivering high quality teaching, and contribute to the development of a vibrant and growing outdoor education culture within the College. This role requires an enthusiastic educator committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, while also facilitating outdoor experiences that build resilience, teamwork, and personal growth. Position Requirements: A recognized teaching qualification, and current registration with the TRBWA. Demonstrated experience teaching HPE at the secondary school level, with the ability to create engaging lessons. Experience delivering Outdoor Education programs, including camps and excursions. Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment. Effective communication skills with students, parents, and staff. Strong organisational and administrative skills, including event planning and risk management. Commitment to promoting student wellbeing, achievement, and personal growth through outdoor education A willingness to support the Christian values of South Coast Baptist College and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Essential Criteria: To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices. To accept the College’s Statement of Faith. Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents. Work to ensure personal best practice. Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair. Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication. Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos. Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC. First Aid certificate is desirable. Working With Children Card.
