We’re looking for a driven and technically savvy R&D Engineering Manager to guide the engineering team for a client based in Perth. This role combines hands-on technical understanding with strategic project leadership, making it ideal for someone who can balance big-picture thinking with detailed execution. You’ll set the vision, rally the team, and ensure projects not only meet technical standards but also deliver real-world results, on time and within scope. What you’ll do Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary R&D team Translate product ideas and customer requirements into clear engineering plans. Oversee the full product lifecycle — from concept design, prototyping, and testing through to production handover. Apply strong project management skills to plan timelines, allocate resources, manage risks, and ensure on-time delivery. Foster collaboration between R&D, manufacturing, quality, and other stakeholders. Keep a close eye on technical quality, compliance, and documentation standards. Work closely with embedded systems, electronics engineering and IoT product development What you bring 10 years experience leading R&D or engineering teams, ideally in an embedded systems or electronics engineering environment. A background in project management — from setting roadmaps to tracking deliverables - within a product development environment Solid technical knowledge in embedded systems or electronics engineering. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A hands-on, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
