Applications close 13 August 2025 at 11.00pm AEST (Job Reference Number - R-54573) Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and organised Casual Library Services Officer to support the University’s teaching, learning, and research endeavours. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Client Experience, this front-line role provides direct client services within the Library Student Experience team. Key responsibilities will include: Provide information and advice on library resources, UQ systems, and support services. Assess client needs, including IT issues, and offer effective solutions or appropriate referrals. Demonstrate flexibility and agility by assisting with library services across all operational activities and sites as needed. Carry out rostered shifts as required. Other duties as reasonably requested by the supervisor Please note: Evening, weekend and/or roster work will be required including attendance for staff training. The University of Queensland Library reserves the right to transfer staff to any of its services About You Enrolled at UQ and have completed at least 1 semester. Experience delivering and improving customer service, with the ability to demonstrate strong digital capabilities. Proven experience in delivering high-quality, accurate results with excellent attention to detail. Evidence of good self-organisation, self-motivation, and effective communication. An excellent team player with a positive, cooperative, and inclusive attitude. A mindset of support for colleagues is a must. Familiarity with library management systems or capacity to quickly learn new systems is essential. You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
