Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: - Assist in managing the conduct of a professional legal practice by supporting the Director, providing leadership and guidance to a team of lawyers and building and sustaining an inclusive, safe and high performing workplace.- Undertake complex legal matters for the Queensland Police Service and represent the organisation before the courts and tribunals.- Provide high level strategic advice to manage legal risk to the organisation including on complex and/or sensitive matters affecting, or likely to affect, the State, the Queensland Police Service and its employees.- Develop and maintain effective and collaborative internal and external relationships and strategic partnerships and represent the organisation at external forums and settings.- Foster a culture of innovation including by reviewing existing processes and practices and implementing strategies to improve service delivery.- Maintain and comply with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services. Role Requirements Mandatory - Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications Qualification - Admission, or eligibility for immediate admission, as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment, or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia Applications to remain current for 12 months.
