We are now seeking a skilled and motivated IT Systems Engineer to help us drive the next chapter of our digital evolution. About the Role We’re seeking a talented IT Systems Engineer to join our Technology team and play a key role in supporting and evolving our core infrastructure. Reporting to the Infrastructure Lead, you’ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of systems that underpin critical port operations. This role is based in Gladstone. This is a versatile opportunity suitable for: A network specialist with deep enterprise experience A broad-skilled generalist with strong troubleshooting abilities A cloud-focused engineer eager to modernise traditional infrastructure Your Key Responsibilities Manage and support enterprise infrastructure across networks, servers, virtualisation, storage, and security Configure and maintain Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewall environments Provide technical escalation and lead resolution of complex incidents Implement security controls and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements Contribute to infrastructure projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams Evaluate emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives Our environment includes Cisco switching, Palo Alto firewalls, VMware vSphere, and Cisco Hyperconverged Infrastructure—but we welcome diverse technical backgrounds and fresh thinking. About You We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused engineer with a passion for infrastructure and a mindset for growth. You’ll Bring: Solid experience in enterprise infrastructure—across networking, systems administration, virtualisation, cloud, or security Strong problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities Familiarity with enterprise-grade platforms (vendor-specific knowledge highly regarded) A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and support others A proactive attitude towards learning and embracing new technologies Desirable: Experience in asset-intensive sectors (e.g., mining, utilities, energy, aviation) Relevant industry certifications (networking, cloud, security, or vendor-specific) Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related field Additional Requirements: A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence Eligibility to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) Why Join GPC?
