About the role This position will provide a professional and human resource reporting line for Emergency Department administrative staff. The key accountabilities of the role include: * Provide leadership to the administrative staff of the Emergency Department ensuring a responsive service that meets the needs of the Department and patients. * Supervise Emergency Department administration staff including responsibilities for administrative practices, safe staff rostering and leave management, payroll requirements, performance planning and coordination of identified training needs as required including on-call/recall requirements. * Monitor and review administrative staff workload and delegate work appropriately. * Provide training and support including but not limited to: revenue including private conversions, Patient Election Forms, standard admission requirements and on-boarding of new staff. * Undertake regular quality audits to ensure data accuracy. * Review, develop and implement streamlined administrative processes within the Emergency Department. * High level communication and problem-solving skills within a confidential environment particularly in time critical situations. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: * Demonstrated expertise in management of an administrative environment including the capacity to supervise and support staff as required This role has direct supervision of approximately 23 FTE. * Demonstrated highly developed administration skills including utilisation of contemporary information technology systems, * Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with team members, staff at all levels and patients. * Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to plan, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and be adaptable in a teamwork environment. Mandatory Requirements: * Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 * Participate in a 24/7 On Call Roster (including over weekends and public holidays).
