About The Opportunity This position presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the region’s transport infrastructure. The primary focus of the role is to develop a mature transport renewal program aligned with Council’s Road Investment Strategy and Active Transport Strategy. In addition, the role will provide valuable support in the program management of transport renewal works delivery, contributing to the efficient and strategic renewal of the local transport network. About You Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering at degree level or above, or equivalent as accredited by Engineers Australia. Registered Professional Engineer of Qld (RPEQ) in the Civil Stream or ability to acquire registration. Extensive experience in asset management, including condition assessment, asset renewal and statutory requirements. Extensive experience in the design, planning or construction of roads, drainage, and pathway infrastructure. Demonstrated experience in infrastructure planning of capital works, specifically in transport related infrastructure. This includes investigation, coordination, and development of projects suitable to meet budgetary approval process. Excellent skills in written and oral communication with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork. Sound knowledge of asset management principles applicable to roads, drainage and active transport infrastructure. Possession of a current 'C' Class Open Driver's License. High level of knowledge and experience in using computers and computer software packages for program management. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide variety of people including all levels of Council staff, Councilors, government representatives, consultants, contractors and the community. Well-developed report writing skills, high level problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to interact and work in a team environment. Effective time management skills and the ability to meet both personal, work and organisational deadlines.
