Overview: Part-time 0.6, Fixed-term contract until December 2025 Salary Teacher Level 2.2 - 5 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne City campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University or other locations. About the Position As a Vocational Education Teacher in Human Biology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic journeys of tertiary students. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering engaging course material, thoughtfully assessing student performance, and overseeing enrolments in selected courses within the School. You will actively participate in the continuous enhancement of course content, innovating delivery methods—including online platforms—and refining assessment strategies to ensure they resonate with learners. Collaborating with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT staff, you will forge valuable connections that enrich the educational experience. To maintain your vocational expertise at the forefront of the field, you will engage in relevant professional development activities, ensuring that the education you provide consistently meets or exceeds the highest standards. Your role will not only inspire students but also contribute to the advancement of human biology education. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods. Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment. Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed. Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position. Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions. Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team. Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies. Qualifications: Certificate IV TAE Bachelor of Science or equivalent Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
