Senior / Lead Frontend Engineer (React, JavaScript) My client is a reputable FinTech company based in Sydney. They are now seeking a Senior or Lead Frontend Engineer who can take true ownership of their work, lead with engineering depth, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business-critical solutions. In this high-impact role, you'll architect, develop, and evolve key frontend solutions, working alongside product owners, business analysts, and engineering peers. You’ll contribute to a truly custom technology stack where reliance on frameworks is minimal, and real engineering depth is essential. Key Responsibilities Architect, build, and maintain scalable front-end applications using React and JavaScript. Implement UI solutions from scratch, without overreliance on design frameworks (e.g., Tailwind or UI libraries). Partner closely with Product Owners, BAs, and UX/UI to design functional, customer-centric interfaces. Guide PRs, mentor engineers across global teams (including Manila), and ensure high code quality. Tackle complex challenges such as switching brand layers over shared product infrastructure. Drive performance, accessibility, and responsive design best practices. Must-Have Technical Skills Deep experience with React, JavaScript, and frontend architecture. Strong understanding of vanilla CSS/JS and the ability to implement custom solutions without third-party crutches. Solid experience building modular, reusable components and SPAs. Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.). Exposure to cloud environments and deploying frontend apps in scalable architectures. Professional Skills Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with BAs, product owners, and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to own large pieces of work, define solutions, and drive implementation. Experience in code reviews, mentorship, and team leadership.
