About the Role The Opportunity: As a Data Engineer at Aurora Energy, you'll be instrumental in transforming our data and analytics capabilities. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering both immediate enhancements and long-term strategic solutions that directly impact business transformation and customer experience outcomes. This role is open to applicants based in either Hobart or Launceston. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will: Client Consultation: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions. Solution & Data Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. You'll be instrumental in optimizing our data landscape within Snowflake , ensuring efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval. Data Analytics: Support data analysis initiatives, providing clean, reliable data for reporting and insights. Data Governance: Advocate for and implement best practices in data governance, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with various teams, communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance our data platforms and processes, contributing to a culture of ongoing innovation. This includes leveraging tools like Matillion for efficient data integration and transformation, and optimizing data delivery for reporting through Power BI . What You'll Bring: Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Strong expertise in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and data warehouses. Hands-on experience with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing. Proficiency in data integration and ETL/ELT tools, with specific experience using Matillion highly regarded. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, particularly Power BI . A solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset, always seeking innovative solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
