This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities. Operational Services provides a catering, housekeeping, ward support and fire safety and security service to the entire Gladstone Hospital facility and surrounds. The Ward Support Service includes patient assistance and porterage, waste and linen removal as well as the specialist functions of orthopaedic casting, operating theatre and mortuary assistance. About the role: Provide quality environmental cleaning, catering and linen services to the clients of the Gladstone Hospital facility. To support our patients, clients, families, and communities to take care of themselves and each other. Work with our partners to connect our services and operate safely and sustainably every day. * Perform cleaning duties according to the Queensland Health Cleaning Guidelines and within designated times by following routine procedures and established techniques. * Cleaning duties include (but are not limited to): light and heavy cleaning tasks, high and low cleaning including walls, windows, ceilings, furniture and fittings and dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, polishing and sweeping (outdoors only). * Assist in food services functions, by following routine procedures and established techniques to complete tasks as directed. * Required to operate individually through a variety of duties including but not limited to salad, sandwich and vegetable preparation, plating of meals, beverage service, delivery of meals, morning and afternoon teas, client contact, cleaning, and stock management. * Working in Catering requires you to ensure the food service function meets the required nutritional and food safety standards. About you: While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in Health Support Services would be well regarded. What we offer: * An hourly rate between $39.05 - $41.66 p.h.
