My People Solutions Recruitment are currently seeking qualified (min Cert III) Disability Support Workers who are experienced in delivering capacity skills building development supports. We are especially seeking applications from candidates who also have qualifications & experience in agriculture, biodiversity, landscaping or veterinary care or art or textiles or woodworking or crafts or business. We ha ve a number of vacancies for working with individuals and groups. Applicants must have at least 2 years of disability support worker experience, hold a relevant qualification AND 2 years of post-qualification work experience in the other area they are qualified in and enjoy working as part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality of support. All roles are based across southeast Melbourne region and applicants must be flexible and able to work across a variety of days & hours each week, as well as being willing to travel to and work in clients' homes, at one of our centers and in SDA/SIL houses making a current driving licence and your own car essential. Important: NDIS WORKER SCREENING CHECK, POLICE CHECK, FIRST AID/CPR, WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK, CAR & CAR LICENCE ARE ESSENTIAL. Some roles also require applicants to hold a current medication administration and / or manual handling certificate. Applicants will only be considered who have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a disability support worker and a relevant disability support worker qualification (e.g., minimum Cert III) AND at least 2 years' experience and a qualification in one of the relevant areas detailed above, as well as having all their documents current and up to date. Requirements Minimum Requirements: Relevant qualifications (min Cert III) and at least 2 years' experience of working as a disability support worker AND 2 years' experience working in a relevant role in agriculture, biodiversity, landscaping or veterinary care or art or textiles or woodworking or crafts or business. Experienced in assessing risks, identifying the support needs of people with disability, developing tailored capacity building support programs to assist individuals to achieve their goals. Confident to develop, plan and deliver high quality 1:1 & group support activities & workshops which are aligned and compliant with the company's brand for only delivering high quality support. Competent in working both independently and collaboratively, while closely connecting with relevant advocates to provide support to community members in the region. Experienced in compliant post session note taking & report writing, exceptional level of written and spoken communication skills and good computer skills essential. Applicants who have experience and are willing to work across different locations (including working in home, in the community, in centers and in SIL/SDA houses) and can be flexible on days and times worked will be highly regarded for these roles. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Vaccinations (including COVID), CPR & First Aid, right to work in Australia, 100 Points of ID, Driving Licence and access to a reliable car are essential. Current medication administration certification and / or manual handling certification is required for some roles. Full driving licence, access to a reliable car & comprehensive car insurance. Ability to communicate, problem solve and use life experience along with integrity, honesty & reliability are critical attributes for this role, as is a good sense of humour. You will be required to attend in person induction training prior to commence work and ongoing in person and online knowledge & skills development as part of your role.
