URGENT HIRING: MALE & FEMALE DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS Connecting Families is seeking strong, trauma-informed male and female Disability Support Workers to provide high-level care for a client with extremely complex behavioral and psychological needs. This role requires workers who can remain calm under pressure, respond to challenging behaviors with care and control, and provide structured, consistent support. Behavioral Challenges Include: Absconding & Property Damage Physical & Verbal Aggression Threats, Intimidation & Suicidal Ideation Sexually Inappropriate Behavior (verbal and physical) Sexually Explicit Dialogue, Fire Setting, Animal Cruelty Homicidal Ideations, Severe Attachment Disorder Antisocial, Destructive, and Trauma-Based Behavior Drug Usage Medical & Psychological Diagnoses: ASD – Autism Spectrum Disorder FASD – Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder RAD – Reactive Attachment Disorder Trauma-Related Behavioral Disorder Preferred Backgrounds: ✔️ Child & Youth Work ✔️ Mental Health & Crisis Management ✔️ Trauma-Informed Disability Support ✔️ Community Services (Disability, Aged Care, Mental Health, Nursing) ✔️ Minimum 2 years consistent work experience in related sectors Key Traits & Skills: ✔️ Calm and assertive in high-stress environments ✔️ Experienced in de-escalating aggressive and sexualized behaviors ✔️ Able to mentor youth with attachment issues and trauma ✔️ Committed to clear boundaries, respectful communication, and safety ✔️ Physically fit and mentally resilient Mandatory Requirements Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work, or Mental Health (Highly Preferred) Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check Employee Working with Children Check (South Australia) National Police Check (within 12 months) Valid First Aid & CPR Certification Valid Australian Driver’s License & Reliable, Insured Vehicle Join Connecting Families — where care is courageous, consistent, and life-changing.
