Project Engineer — Mascot, Rockdale Area

Why is this role for you? You're a Project Engineer that is sick of working Saturdays and long hours on site every week. You're feeling burnt out, and you know it’s time for a change to a role with a better work-life balance. You ready to step up to something with more responsibility, and this role gives you the platform to do exactly that. As a Design and Quality Manager, this isn’t just about managing drawings and QA logs. You’ll use your engineering skills and by working directly with the MD and CM you’ll be shaping how projects are designed and delivered from day 1. You’ll enjoy autonomy, influence and how your week is scheduled. You’ll have a say in how things are built, where cranes go, what new materials and methods to try, things only people with real site experience understand. The role is office-based in a new Mascot building (parking and gym included), but you’ll be out on sites for visits fairly regularly too, and hours are more 8.30-5.30pm rather the usual 6.30am-6pm on site! This is a growth role in the business and within a year you’ll be looking to hire your own junior assistant as the role develops. Salary is in the $180k-$220k package, plus your own parking space at the office, extra AL days and a friendly social team to join. Some of the things you’ll do Prepare and manage design documentation from pre-construction to handover Work closely with site teams to optimise design outcomes and buildability Lead the coordination of consultants and subcontractors on technical issues Review and approve shop drawings to ensure compliance and practicality Liaise with authorities and oversee CC/OC approvals Contribute to QA systems and ITPs, more strategy and systems than site-based checks Financially control designs to ensure that at a minimum, they are in line with project budgets This sounds perfect, but what do you expect from me? Not much! Just 5 points you need to tick to be a great shout for this role; You’ve worked as a Project Engineer on new build commercial, industrial, education or aged care projects in Australia You’ve got a construction/engineering-related degree and 5 years post-grad working with head contractor builders You’re across NCC, Australian Standards, and construction methodology You enjoy collaborating with consultants, authorities, and site teams You’re hands-on, curious, and want to help shape how buildings are delivered I’m intrigued, what’s the next step? You don’t need to send a CV at this stage. Just call James on 0414417044 for an informal chat or send me an email at [email protected] telling me why you’re interested. Everyone will receive a response within 48 hours. SCR-james-davis
