About the role: Chrysos Corporation is seeking a highly motivated technical data specialist to join us as a data analytics engineer. They will support implementation and delivery of end-to-end data artefacts from source systems to visualisations. This individual will contribute to implementation and maintenance of an enterprise-wide data ecosystem in a fast-paced environment traversing all aspects of a modern data analytics technology stack. What you will do: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and processes to support data analytics and insights. Develop and optimise queries, procedures, and schemas in relational, time series and semi-structured data stores. Maintain and enhance data warehouse and data lake platform and environment. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and visualisations. Translate varied business data requirements to front end data deliverables. Develop and maintain documentation, processes, guides, and both technical and non-technical data related collateral for critical data assets. Manage and triage incoming requests from internal and external stakeholders. Monitor and optimise data operations across entire data ecosystem. Collaborate with technical development teams to ensure seamless data flow between systems. Contribute to the implementation of data integrity, quality and monitoring Support the migration and transformation of data from internal in-house developed systems as well as enterprise cots systems. Contribute to the formation of and comply with processes, policies and frameworks for data management, data analytics and data governance. Participate in initiatives that use predictive analytics and AI to streamline key operations. Who you are: Essential Minimum 5 years of experience in any single or a combination of the following technical data specialist areas: data science, data analysis, data engineering, business intelligence, database development, data modelling, data integration. Have an interest in a hybrid role that spans multiple specialties. Extensive working experience in querying, modelling and data artefact development in a relational database system like SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Snowflake, with the aptitude to use multiple query language flavours. Proficiency with at least one ETL/ELT tool with the aptitude to develop scripted and or bespoke pipelines. Experience with multiple data ingestion patterns. Experience in dashboard, reporting and visualisation design and development in contemporary tools like Power BI or Tableau. Experience and proficiency in (or demonstrated experience in transitioning across disparate tools) at least one of PostgreSQL, dbt, Snowflake, Grafana, Power BI, git, Azure DevOps, vs Code, AWS Glue, Python, Jupyter, Apache Iceberg, Snowpipe, Kafka, Debezium. Education in or proven knowledge of at least one advanced data analytics area like data science, machine learning, deterministic ai, forecasting, anomaly detection, spatial information, dimensional data modelling. Strong experience in a highly analytical, scientific, numeric and or technical role that requires complex problem-solving skills. Exposure to building solutions using cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Azure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Desirable Experience working with time series, semi-structured and or unstructured data sources. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies Knowledge or experience in Dev-Data-Model-Fin Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and automation tools Experience in metadata driven code generation or orchestration. Experience in mining and or laboratory information system industry. Experience in multiple data management capability areas.
