The Senior Network Engineer will ensure Freightways Australia (FIS) businesses are provided with exceptional service in the delivery of network-based solutions as well as meeting the demands of any proactive or reactive network related incidents. The Senior Network Engineer will have a high level of expertise across network and security technologies like Fortinet Firewall, Juniper Switching, Cisco Meraki SDWAN and F5 Load Balancing. This role will see you as responsible for maintaining, updating & supporting the Freightways core and branch networks in Australia. You will champion FIS processes and prioritisation of work to deliver efficient and reliable network support. Your Key Responsibilities Include: • Engages in the design and implementation planning of network infrastructure for assigned initiatives. • Leads the execution of network implementations to ensure robustness and efficiency. • Manages network asset lifecycle, including procurement, spares, initial and ongoing deployments, decommissioning and reporting/analytics. • Coordinates network vendors, escalation support inclusive of RMA processes. • Produces documentation and user knowledge base articles surrounding operational processes. About you: • 5 years’ experience maintaining and supporting critical production IT environments. • Experience working in cross-functional IT teams supporting larger business objectives. • Experience in modernizing legacy networking environments and cloud uplift. • Demonstrated experience in enterprise level network topology. • Proven experience of effective multi-vendor service delivery, performance and financial management. • Demonstrated expertise in networks and security technologies Requirements of the role – What to highlight in your application. • High level of expertise across network and security technologies like Fortinet Firewall/SDWAN, Juniper Switching, Cisco Meraki SDWAN and F5 Load Balancing. • High level of knowledge for networking fundamentals such as switching (ARP, STP), static and dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF), DHCP, DNS, IP Subnetting, NAT, NTP, Syslog. • Good understanding of Network Management functions such as Radius/802.1x, Network Access Control (NAC), SNMP Monitoring, IPSEC VPNs, SSL VPN Remote Access. • Experience with network monitoring, management systems and diagnostic toolsets including NetFlow, SNMP, Zabbix, sFlow, Wireshark. • Ability to design network functionality for broader systems and security implementations • Proactively learn and trains others in support functions and new technologies.
