Currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Sydney Olympic Park. The Senior Mechanical Engineer manages and coordinates all the design related matters on construction and estimation projects, helping to keep work running smoothly, on time and based on all design standards and requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficient deployment and management of resources Lead and manage design projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards Manage employment of suitably qualifies employees for design department Maintain regular contact with the client throughout each design process as required Measure / analyse service staff KPI’s (Design department) To assist with any design or coordination issues that arise To work closely with the Construction Manager/ Project Manager to schedule work and coordinate resources in relation to all construction projects, with the aim of achieving optimum levels of productivity. To work closely with all sub-contractors, to ensure that all design aspects of projects are delivered in line with specifications and on time To regularly communicate with clients and project management team and visit construction sites during the life of active projects, to inspect engineering considerations, discuss and deal with issues Attend Design/ Site/ Client meetings to address difficulties, unachievable designs or find alternatives to time sensitive issues that delay programme. Prepare dilapidation reports, audits, technical reviews as separate clients requests or special project Maintain professional communication with Clients EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Thorough understanding of HVAC systems 3 years' experience on HVAC design projects Deep knowledge of engineering software Good knowledge of financial aspects of construction projects Good experience in wide range of construction projects (Residential, educational, health, retail, new and fit out jobs) Strong literacy skills Project management qualifications and experience Good organisational and time management skills Driver’s license White card Strong multi-tasking skills Intermediate PC skills i.e., word, excel and outlook Previous experience working in similar position BENEFITS: Enjoy the benefits of working for a national company, while also being part of a local, collaborative and supportive team.
