About the Centre/Service Cara Armstrong Kindergarten is an iconic play-based kindergarten which has been offering the children of Hawthorn East and its surrounding neighbourhoods a quality kinder experience and family friendly atmosphere since 1945. Our single room kinder offers one 3yo program (2 days per week) and one 4yo program (3 days per week). Description We are seeking a passionate, engaging and enthusiastic teacher who can lead and develop a high quality educational program for our 4 year old class, based on promoting each child’s learning across the five learning outcomes in a play-based environment. As the nominated supervisor you will be required to work with and report to our committee of management, as the educational leader you will be guiding and supporting a small team of educators. To do this, the successful candidate will: Have a solid understanding of early childhood development and how this applies in an educational setting Have a well-developed understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, National Quality Standards and National Regulations Be familiar with the Government Kindergarten funding requirements and SRF. Require excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, committee members and external service providers. Provide educational leadership and support to a small team, including staffing management Work with, and report to, the parent-led Committee of Management Lead the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan Have excellent time management skills to work across the roles of Teacher, Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader Our teachers and educators operate in a professional manner at all times, meeting the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET) Kindergarten Guide, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, the Education and Care Services National Regulations, and our kinder policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum of a 3 year teaching qualification approved by ACECQA Will consider an approved 2 yr teaching qualification with extensive experience Successful candidates will be paid above VECTEA wage rates with competitive terms and conditions.
