The Bus Driver operates an essential and much-loved service for our residents, ensuring our residents are provided with regular and safe transport for shopping trips and outings to various locations. A friendly sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this role. Some of the tasks of the job will include but not be limited to: Providing safe transportation for scheduled outings to residents in a friendly and empathetic manner. Loading and unloading the residents' mobility aids and shopping onto the bus. Ensuring that residents are picked up and dropped off on time. Collaborating with team members in trip preparation and planning. Engaging with residents, encouraging and supporting them to engage in the outings. Assisting with cleaning and maintenance tasks within the Village as required this could include changing light bulbs in units, fixing door locks and handles, fixing sleeper walls as well as occasional painting, repairing palings around drying courts and bin enclosures. Rearranging the chairs and tables in the Community Centre. Cleaning the concrete kerbs, driveways, drying courts and front pathways of the residential units as well as the paths. What will you bring to the role? Current MR licence and Drivers Authority Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable) Exceptional people and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work autonomously Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland?
