About the Centre/Service Syndal Preschool is a community managed, government funded kindergarten, rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. We offer both 3- and 4-year-old preschool programs, in a caring and stimulating environment, guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood teachers. Our teachers are dedicated to developing programs that reflect each individual child’s interests and abilities, while incorporating family dynamics, culture and aspirations. Our preschool curriculum is underpinned by the National Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and like-minded Kinder Director and Early Childhood Teacher to join our team to co-deliver the delivery of a high quality, play-based program for the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes. Description The role of Director/Nominated Supervisor role 3 hours per week. Permanent role In addition to this we require an Early Childhood Teacher Role. (9.5 hours is Maternity Leave role and 4 hours is permanent role). This role is for 3 half day sessions of 4-4.5 hours (teaching time) on a · Monday (afternoon 3 year old ) 4 hours · Wednesday (Morning 3 year old ) 4.5 hours · Friday (afternoon 4-year-old) 4 hours plus planning time on additional days, (with some flexibility on choice of times). We have 22 children in each group and you will be assisted by 1 Early Childhood Educator. The kindergarten sessions are from 8:30am -4pm daily.(School Terms) We encourage teachers with experience in implementing play-based learning and inclusive practice to apply for this role. As the Director-Nominated Supervisor, you will: · Lead day-to-day operations of the service in line with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and Education and Care Services National Regulations · Oversee compliance, funding, enrolments, and staff rostering · Work collaboratively with the Approved Provider -the Committee of Management · Support and mentor a team of educators and teachers · Foster strong partnerships with families and the broader community As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will: ● be passionate about early childhood education ● have a strong understanding of child development and the VEYLDF/EYLF ● show the ability to plan creative individual and group programs which support children's curiosity and foster their learning and development ● be able to team-teach in a group, sharing responsibilities with other teachers to provide a consistent, intentional, and engaging learning program · have excellent organisational and communication skills with children, families, staff, committee and members of the community ● demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, contributing to the running of the Kindergarten ● show the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team-teaching model ● demonstrate knowledge of child-safe practice ● conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Preschool policies and Victorian Kindergarten policy, procedures and funding criteria ● be committed to ongoing professional learning and development. Qualifications The successful applicant will hold – · A minimum qualification of Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) and the right to work in Australia. · Current VIT registration (includes Clear Working with Children Check) · Current First Aid qualifications (including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management), and Mandatory Reporting certificate. · Proven leadership experience in an early childhood setting · Strong knowledge of the NQF, Child Safe Standards, and VEYLDF · Excellent communication, organisation, and team-building skills · Commitment to inclusive, high-quality early childhood education
