The Role: As the Data Engineer in a high-growth financial services business, you’ll play a central role in transforming legacy data processes into efficient, scalable solutions. Working within a collaborative team, you’ll architect modern infrastructure, build robust pipelines, and enable cloud-based reporting environments. A working knowledge of existing VBA-based tools will help you understand current-state processes and guide the shift to future-state systems using platforms like Azure and Databricks. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver scalable data architecture and cloud-based pipelines Lead the modernisation of legacy VBA and Excel-based reporting processes Collaborate with internal teams to understand and apply changes to data repositories Implement best-practice transformation, governance and performance optimisation Ensure data quality, consistency and security across all solutions Write complex SQL queries and support data migrations About You: Strong experience in data engineering, architecture and integration Proven experience in designing and building scalable data solutions Familiarity with VBA and legacy Excel-based processes, with a transformation mindset Hands-on with cloud data solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake Strong programming skills in R, Python or C# Previous experience with PowerShell and VBA Strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments Financial services / funds management experience preferred Analytical, detail-oriented and solutions-focused mindset This role is based in Brisbane CBD and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation with a strong reputation.
