Based at Eagle Farm, G. James Aluminium Products Division is seeking a Die Designer to support a wide range of designs and production drawings (including state of the art tool room, with an emphasis on aluminium extrusion presses). The Role The role involves producing precise and practical tooling designs that support high-quality manufacturing outcomes. It’s well suited to someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for precision engineering, and a solid foundation in CAD. Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D modelling, and a qualification in Industrial Design or a related discipline are essential. Key Responsibilities: Design accurate and practical extrusion dies to meet production and quality standards Prepare detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks Prepare 3D meshing for simulation Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure designs are feasible and optimized Inspect and review die designs to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement About You To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes: Qualification or degree in a design Proficient in SolidWorks (2D and 3D modelling) Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively within a team environment Exceptional work ethic, with a demonstrated history of maintaining the highest standard of integrity. Adaptable, flexible, and level-headed when confronted with a range of complexities.
