Our capabilities extend across different sectors, comprising large residential and commercial buildings, industrial facilities, public sewerage, water and drainage infrastructure, bridges, roads, rail networks, water storage reservoirs, dams and marine and coastal infrastructure. About the role On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a dedicated, self-driven and highly organized Civil Engineer to be part of their growing team. You will generally be responsible for managing our construction projects, conducting site investigations, assessing risks and ensuring safe project completion. Duties and Responsibilities Determine the number of skilled workers, Solid Plasterers and Labourers needed for different phases of the project. Assess and determine the most appropriate construction methods and procedures for each specific repair and protection task. Select suitable materials for repair and protection, such as concrete mixes, coatings, adhesives and sealants. Organise the delivery of materials and equipment needed for the project. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies and innovative repair techniques. Verify that all aspects of the repair and protection work adhere to relevant codes, regulations and industry standards. Conduct a comprehensive site investigation by surveying the area, studying geological and topographical conditions and identifying potential soil and rock variations across the site. Assess the condition of existing structures, identify areas in need of repair and design appropriate solutions to address concrete deterioration and damage. Evaluate the integrity and safety of structures by analysing load-bearing capacities, stress distribution and potential weaknesses. Estimate total project costs considering factors such as material quantities, unit costs and market rates and prepare detailed cost plans that break down the estimated costs.
