We are currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) in Thurgoona that we're looking to fill. Duties for the Mechanical Engineering Technician role include: Production Technical Support - - Provide technical support to the production team to resolve operational issues. - Optimise and maintain extrusion/corrugation lines for consistent output across all pipe sizes. - Assist with tooling setup and line changeovers from DN110 to DN1050. - Monitor production metrics and KPIs to ensure targets are met. - Troubleshoot mechanical issues and reduce machine downtime. Quality Assurance - - Verify product integrity, ovality, and wall structure meet SN8 specifications. - Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures. - Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues. Training and Development - - Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and quality standards. - Develop training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Documentation and Reporting - - Support process documentation, calibration, and plant improvements. - Prepare and present technical reports and production performance summaries. - Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) - - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Participate in HSE audits and risk assessments. - Promote safe work practices and a safe working environment. Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar role and hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering: Mechanical or related fields. The successful candidate also needs to have demonstrated experience, competencies, and skills: Be an effective communicator; an attentive listener who can respond accordingly with clear and concise information. Develop a growth mindset and be humble & open to learning new skills. Display a positive attitude and have a strong desire to hustle. Acknowledge and follow the company systems, processes & methodologies. Have attention to detail. Be flexible. Has good time-management skills. Has strong understanding of production processes and troubleshooting. Knowledgeable of quality standards and experience in quality control plans. Has skills in creating training materials and delivering sessions. Compliant with required certifications and trainings. Proficient in maintaining compliance documentation and preparing reports.
