Our Technical, Advisory, and Capability practice and Team Downer serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs. This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and branches across the Navy, Army, and Air Force . We are currently seeking an experienced Requirements Engineer for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages. If successful in securing a role, your work may involve: Lead requirements engineering activities , including the development, analysis, and lifecycle management of requirement sets, ensuring traceability to system design and verification outcomes. Provide systems engineering support , applying technical expertise in integration engineering, V&V planning, test and evaluation, and certification processes. Deliver high-quality engineering services , covering regulatory compliance, resource planning, project reporting, and reviews of contract deliverables. Utilize specialist tools and standards , including DOORS and VCRM, to manage requirements and verification processes in alignment with Defence and international engineering standards. Produce technical documentation and analysis , such as hazard reports, engineering plans, certification materials, and design assessments to support Defence project outcomes. We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas: Strong experience Engineering Management within Defence, government, or professional services. Experience with RF environments and wireless communications in contested communications or electronic warfare domains. Experience in digital communications protocols and signal conversion techniques. Experience driving processes and process improvements, including continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with US Export Controls including Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) and Third Party Retransfer authorisations Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary.
