When you grow, we grow. Penny Gold Mine is a high-grade, narrow-vein underground mine located 140 km southeast of our Mount Magnet hub. As a low-cost, high-yield producer, Penny plays a key role in our broader production strategy by consistently delivering high-grade ore to the Checkers Processing Plant. With strong performance, a growing resource base, and surface drilling underway to extend its mine life, Penny continues to exceed expectations and remains a standout asset in our portfolio. The Role As a key leader within the Penny team, you will play a pivotal role in driving safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing drill and blast design, mine planning, production scheduling, and operational execution, while ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and company standards. In this role, you can expect to: Guide and mentor a small technical team to achieve and exceed targets and expectations Oversee and contribute to fit for purpose drill and blast designs that support safety, production and cost objectives Develop and implement short- and medium-term mine plans and schedules Assist the corporate Planning Engineer with the long-term schedule Oversee underground production activities to meet safety, cost, and performance targets Monitor contractor performance and review monthly claims Produce and review operational reports and technical documentation Foster collaboration across departments to ensure accurate and timely information flow Manage ventilation and explosives compliance in line with statutory requirements Hold the statutory position of Underground Manager and Site Senior Executive as required About You You are a confident and capable mining professional who thrives on responsibility and leads with purpose. With a strong technical foundation and a practical mindset, you enjoy taking ownership of underground production and planning while guiding others to perform at their best. You demonstrate clarity and composure and thrive on the opportunity to shape the future of this key strategic asset. You bring: Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering Experience in Underground Gold Mining Technical knowledge and practical application of relevant mining legislation and implications WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of competency is essential, Willingness to obtain Site Senior Executive qualification Strong working knowledge of WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 and WHS Act 2020 Competency in using Deswik and Ventsim Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive continuous improvement, fostering a high performance culture Previous contractor management experience (desirable) A current West Australian C Class (manual) driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance.
