Senior Cyber Security Engineer - Enterprise Client | Sydney-Based, E8 Uplift Experience Is Essential Your new company Our client is a large, forward-thinking organisation committed to uplifting its cybersecurity maturity. This institution is embarking on a strategic Essential 8 and NIST-aligned uplift and is seeking a technically adept Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join on a contract engagement and play a key role in a multi-year transformation. The role is Sydney-based with flexible hybrid arrangements (12 days onsite per week) and will involve working with both internal and partner teams to implement critical security controls across a complex IT footprint. Contract until 19 December 2025, with strong potential for extension as part of a multi-year program. Your new role As the Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will act as the technical lead and implementation specialist for the organisations Essential 8 and NIST frameworks rollout. You'll work closely with infrastructure, application, and endpoint teams to embed robust, Windows-based security controls and help shape a remediation roadmap based on current maturity assessments.This is a hands-on delivery role requiring practical implementation across privileged access, backups, macros, user controls, application security, and endpoint hardening. You'll also engage with non-technical users to drive adoption, and influence positive change. Theres a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, architectural thinking, and keyboard-ready execution.
