In this pivotal role, you will provide operational leadership and strategic administrative management, ensuring the effective coordination of teaching, learning, and student support across the School. You will oversee a dedicated team, implement University policies, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery to enhance the student experience. As a key advisor to both academic and professional staff, you will ensure compliance with institutional regulations while contributing to the School’s broader operational and strategic priorities. This role is essential in supporting the School’s teaching and learning objectives through expert administrative leadership and a commitment to service excellence. Key responsibilities will include: Lead the Student and Academic Administration team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment aligned with UQ’s values. Implement University and Faculty academic policies, advising senior staff on complex student matters and quality assurance. Provide governance support as Secretary to the School Teaching and Learning Committee, including agenda preparation, reporting, and action tracking. Manage curriculum changes and Board of Studies submissions, ensuring compliance, consultation, and analysis of student impacts. Contribute to strategic planning through data analysis and reporting on student performance, progression, and educational improvement opportunities. Oversee efficient systems for timetabling, course offerings, and student records, continuously improving processes and service delivery. Support academic integrity procedures by coordinating case management, documentation, and liaison with University stakeholders. Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing the School in University forums and promoting best practices. Proven administrative experience in tertiary education, with a minimum of two years at an intermediate level successfully managing staff to achieve effective outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Detailed knowledge of the University's policies and procedures in relation to student and academic administration or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with stakeholders, providing expert advice, and negotiating to achieve desired outcomes. High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform statistical analyses, interpret data trends, develop innovative solutions, and implement process improvements. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards. Experience in using the University's information systems and reporting tools or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
