This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint Senior MEP CPS Engineer - Electrical. Position Summary Ensure the effective coordination, control and execution of Construction Phase Services tasks for a designated area or discipline through activities of team leadership, technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning and cost control based on Parklife Metro JV standards and specifications. The Senior CPS Engineer is responsible in assisting the CPS Manager to ensure the effective and successful support of construction activities to enable completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified requirements. Key responsibilities Manage the operational aspects of Construction Phase Services (CPS) to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model Review all Construction Requests For Information (CRFIs) from the Construction Team in relation to Design Queries, Clarifications & Shop Drawings Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, construction and CPS practices and problem solving to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved Monitor, analyse, manage and control information and documentation flow between Construction teams and Engineers, CPS Engineers, Consultants, Subcontractors and Parklife Metro JV ensuring that all parties are working from current documentation Respond to all CRFIs (RFS) with either providing direct responses derived from AFC Certified Final Design Documentation, solutions from Design TAOs and/or expected timeframes for Technical Clarification Responses. Coordinate all Technical Clarifications with the Design TAOs on whether they be related directly to Design Disciplines and/or Architectural Finishes/Landscaping/DDA Compliance related Provide expertise within their designated area or discipline for shop drawing reviews Ensure CPS specific management plans are implemented Ensure effective and proactive support of construction team for Construction Phase Services, including all CPS Engineers responsibilities Encourage commitment from team members to the achievement and/ or bettering of support to the construction teams Manage collections and coordination of information sharing project wide for site specific lessons learned and initiatives Develop and implement, with line manager, peers and direct reports, a system and process for effective escalation of issues from sites to CPS Managers Review the subcontractors shop drawing and construction programme(s) and assists in identifying critical areas and integrates these into the CPS team approach. Manage cost control for their designated area or discipline, including consultants, for preparation of project reports Identifies and forecasts risks and opportunities for their designated area or discipline, including consultants, and monitor CRFI trends - share findings and improvement opportunities to CPS manager weekly Prepares and delivers CPS system and process training to the CPS and construction teams Interacts with other CPS - and Snr. CPS Engineers, Approved Engineers, Post AFC Change team, CPS Managers, consultants and other parties in an effective manner to inspire a positive work environment and effective information sharing Maintains regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation and enthusiasm with the intent to discuss CPS related Construction Issues in advance of CRFIs being raised to ensure a suitable proposal is developed for Design TAO Review Key result areas Effective process management, Contract and Subcontract management, Management of technical standards and contractual performance requirements, Effective planning and project management, effective stakeholder management, effective people management and team leadership. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree (Engineering) or Relevant Tertiary Education Minimum Experience 8 years working experience in the construction /engineering industry Prior experience working in a similar position (eg Design Coordinator, Project Engineer) Job-Specific Skills Ability to identify, evaluate and program what actions must be completed in order to reach a certain goal, how to carry them out and what resources are necessary to achieve the final objective. Presented problem solving / analytical skills The ability to cooperate with others, within and outside the team, establishing and efficient work relationship and fluid communication that will contribute to then achievement of objectives. Competent in planning and organising work schedules Working knowledge of Australian Standards and TfNSW/Metro requirements and implementation/compliance of/with same Clear communication – verbal and written Be open minded seeking innovation High attention to detail Knowledge of Microsoft Suites Key Competencies Contractual correspondence, preparation of monthly reports, analyse and report on task/volume trackers and associated costs, able to work with limited supervision and direction, communicates at high levels.
