Senior Automation Engineer (NetDevOps) — Kogarah, Rockdale Area

Job Description Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Automation Engineer. This role will focus on designing and developing automation workflows and software for networking using IaC/CaC approaches with tools like Ansible and Terraform, including custom module development. It will involve close collaboration with DevOps and network teams to build CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins) and automate deployments. The role also includes developing scripts and tools in Python, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for network service automation, and working with databases such as MongoDB for configuration management and telemetry. Best practices in coding, version control (Git), testing, build systems, and dependency management will be essential. What do I need? Demonstrated experience in building software solutions in the networking or infrastructure automation domain. Proficiency in Ansible and Terraform, including the creation of custom modules or plugins. Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals. Experience with Python or similar mainstream programming languages. Familiarity with container orchestration and deployment tools such as Kubernetes and Docker. Experience with MongoDB and proficiency in database querying. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins. Understanding of software testing methodologies and dependency/package management systems. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
