About the role Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is seeking internal expressions of interest for the Senior Administration Officer on a 12 month Maximum term basis. The Senior Administration Officer is responsible for the administration of Surgery Connect and WBHHS patient referrals, ensuring contractual obligations are met and scheduling of cases are within prescribed guidelines whilst maintaining and fostering continuing relationships between Mater Misericordiae Limited and Queensland Health Departments. Salary range: $45.81 - $50.46 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing Acquire and maintain full and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contracts between MML and Queensland Health, including but not limited to Surgery Connect, WBHHS agreements and any other public contract Investigate, interpret and evaluate information where guidelines, contracts, legislations and written communications do not provide specific or adequate information Provide extensive understanding and familiarity regarding financial costs associated with surgical procedures in relation to contract fees ensuring financial risks are identified and escalated to Executive Accurately process all relevant Visiting Medical Officers invoices for payment and participate in the month-end accrual process, ensuring appropriate deadlines are met Maintain appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of clinical coding to ensure Diagnostic Related Groups (DRG) adequately reflect the standard of care and surgical/procedural interventions that are provided to patients; Serve as a primary point of contact and informational resource for all relevant stakeholders by responding to queries, concerns or complaints in a timely, professional, confidential manner Review, process and follow-up of all public patient related invoicing for payment to MML in accordance with contractual terms Collaborate with external Practice Managers to streamline processes that are consistent with a positive patient-centred care experience Ensure business relationships and communications are open and clear understanding is provided to all regarding the public patient program(s). About you Vocational qualifications in Business Administration Proven experience working in a medical or hospital administration environment with the ability to interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately Excellent written and verbal communication, literacy, numeracy and reporting skills Strong organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities, work effectively in a busy and demanding environment and meet established deadlines Demonstrated understanding of private health funding and patient accounts management Applications close on 20 th June 2025.
