6 month ongoing contract with the option to go permanent Work across both BAU and Project Competitive daily rate on offer My client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-impact team modernising batch ETL processes that underpin core operational and analytical systems. This role offers a good balance between project-based ETL modernisation and ongoing BAU support, allowing the right candidate to shape long-term platform strategy while driving critical day-to-day operations Requirements: 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer and ETL Developer Strong expertise in SQL (preferably PL/SQL on Postgres and Oracle platforms), including query optimisation using better query authoring, performance tuning, indexing, and partition pruning Strong expertise in ETL tools (Pentaho is a bonus, but experience with other mature tools such as SSIS or Informatica is valued) Demonstrated experience with batch ETL design, optimisation, and troubleshooting in on-prem environments Ability to work with and modernise legacy systems, focusing strongly on design, not just tooling Understanding of data architecture principles and secure enterprise-grade platforms Background in the utilities or energy sector (bonus) Exposure to platform modernisation initiatives involving secure and large-scale data systems Benefits: Ongoing contract with the option to convert to permanent Competitive rate on offer Interview and start ASAP Be a part of a very stable team with little to no turnover If you would like to know more please contact Sean Mantri on 0420 425 141 / [email protected] or hit Apply Now!
